It is my great pleasure to welcome you to the 2026 Liver Sinusoid Meeting – 23rd International Symposium on Cells of the Hepatic Sinusoid, which will take place in the beautiful and historic city of Tarragona, Spain. This symposium continues the long-standing tradition of bringing together scientists and professionals dedicated to understanding the hepatic sinusoid and its crucial role in liver function, disease, aging and regeneration.
Over the years, our community has made remarkable strides in unraveling the complexities of liver microcirculation, immune regulation, and sinusoidal cell interactions. This year, we are excited to present a scientific program that highlights the latest advances in sinusoidal endothelial cell biology, liver immunology, fibrosis, and innovative therapeutic approaches. We have assembled an outstanding lineup of international speakers and look forward to dynamic discussions that will shape the future of our field.
In addition to the scientific sessions, we have planned an engaging social program, including guided historical tours of Tarragona, where you can explore the city’s rich Roman heritage, and a Gala Dinner to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of ISHSR—a milestone that reflects five decades of pioneering research and collaboration in our field.
Beyond the science, Tarragona—an ancient Roman city by the Mediterranean—offers a stunning setting for networking and collaboration. I encourage you to take time to enjoy its UNESCO World Heritage sites, rich gastronomy, and the vibrant atmosphere that will make this symposium truly special.
On behalf of the organizing committee, I thank you for joining us and contributing to what promises to be an engaging and memorable symposium.
Welcome to Tarragona!
